Creative Places Baltinglass and the local musician and producer Mark Caplice are delighted to invite you to a night of original music featuring three exciting artists coming together to share their songs and stories in a night of original music in the homely atmosphere of Horan’s in Baltinglass.

One Morning in August, Padraig McGrath and Amy Barrett will blend their styles and experiences to create what’s bound to be an incredible night of music themed by home.

Each artist will share a story about what "Home" means to them, and sing a song that reminds them of home.

One Morning in August

One Morning in August is a two-piece band (John Phelan and Stephen Byrne) based in Waterford and Carlow but originally from Kiltegan, Co. Wicklow. They signed to FIFA Records (Frank and Walters, First Class and Coach, Driven Snow, Cat Dowling, Klubber Lang, Trouble Pilgrims) in Cork in late 2020 and have recently released their second album 'Another Morning' which included two songs featured on the RTÉ Recommends List.

Their 2020 self-titled debut album was included in Tom Dunne’s top 30 albums of the year and was also included in many top 20 albums of the year lists by DJs and journalists.

They have recently played with The Stunning in Waterford, The Frank and Walters in Kerry, Cat Dowling in Whelan's in Dublin, Mark Geary and TheLost Brothers in Waterford, First Class and Coach in the Theatre Royal Waterford.

They are often joined by Claire Cummins on vocals, David Ayers and John Clancy on bass, John Moloney and Adrian O'Connell on acoustic guitar.

Amy Barrett

Amy Barrett is a singer-songwriter from Dunlavin, County Wicklow. Amy has performed on regional and national radio multiple times with her original singles Emilio and Heartbreak.

She is currently studying at DCU and is a member of the famed Choral Scholars with whom she performs regularly. Amy is a tremendous talent with an incredible vocal range and a warm stage charm to go with it. The sky is the limit for this young Wicklow artist.

Padraig McGrath

Padraig McGrath is a captivating folk rock singer-songwriter from Wicklow, known for his soul-stirring melodies and heartfelt lyrics. His EP "Succubus or Saint," released in 2022, showcased his exceptional musical prowess and unique storytelling ability. Building on his success, he followed up with the single "Rainy Sunday Sunshine Blues" in 2023, further solidifying his presence in the music scene. Currently residing in Carlow, McGrath's evocative tunes continue to resonate with listeners, painting vivid emotional landscapes through his music.

Mark Caplice

Mark Caplice is amulti-award-winning artist/songwriter/producer from Baltinglass. Mark has written successful songs for The Eurovision, National and international charts,and produced for Worldwide TV and Netflix series such as Firefly Lane and many others. Mark's work has been heard by over 200,000,000 people worldwide. Currently touring Europe, Mark combines his songcraft with high energy to create truly memorable events. His love of words and stories is at the forefront of his writing.
